The fastest sail in downwind slalom racing.
Deep cambered, aggressive looking PWA World Champion race sail.
Keeps the board on course like on rails
Insanely powerful, mega turbo power
Breathtaking acceleration
Control like a V12 cylinder
Easy entry into the gybe thanks to its light profile at the back of the sail
Insane acceleration right after the sail rotation out of the gybe
Men's PWA Slalom World Champion
Designed for: In Italy, racing is art and cult. The AC-One is for uncompromising competitive slalom surfers who want to be at the top of the podium.
The tests in trade magazines say: The fastest sail in downwind slalom racing. The name AC-One is simply derived from the initials and sail number of Andrea Cucchi. Point-7 founder, development director, team manager and the man who decided a few years ago to form a group of young professionals who train together under the name "BLACK TEAM". Andrea is simply "THE BOSS".
What's new: In the sail sizes between 6.2 and 4.7 sqm, the foot luff has been pulled down deeper to allow for more close the gap when overpowered, thus bringing more stability to the sail. The 7.1 and 7.8 have been given a longer boom length. The advantage is to have more power in light winds, which increases the overall average speed. In the event of a gust, or even when it dies down, a longer boom allows the same body position and pressure to be maintained on the board, increasing comfort and performance. The new development was a big step forward from the previous version. For the 8.6 and the 9.2, a new concept was developed in the upper sail area with the aim of giving larger boards more lift. In summary, the 2022 AC-K Pro has been developed further in the direction of more performance in light winds, in addition to its topperformance in strong winds.
5mil Anti UV X-ply base sheet to protect against accidents.
Anti-UV transparent grey window for a 100% anti UV monofilm sail.
X-ply mast pocket for fast reflection.
Lower wide mast pocket in Dacron for added performance and comfort. 3 Camber for maximum performance.
4mil Anti UV X-ply laminate for high reactivity.
X-ply alternating batten pockets for lighter weight and reflex. 7 tubular battens, with 7 different setups to best match the purebred slalom profile in terms of quality. Battens seven and six consist of a special construction of 3 differently profiled batten sections.
The absolute hammer if you are into drag racing!
XXL mast pocket, deep sail profile from bottom to top for extreme power and stability when racing downwind.
The sail power cannot escape because of a special winglet at the first batten at the very top of the sail and is fully available to the rider. It works like close the gap on the board, but at the top of the top. The result: no turbulence in the top area, which could negatively influence the performance of the entire sail further down.
Neutral yet deep profile that accelerates the wind and generates extreme propulsion.
The sail automatically self-adjusts its power thanks to the S-shaping along the entire opening in the mid to upper leech to increase or decrease the venturi effect in the sail depending on the wind conditions.
Only one clew eye, which ensures that the control of the S-shape and leech tension is controlled from the optimum point in the clew, exactly where the eye is located.
You can close the gap between the foot and the board deck to the millimetre (close the gap). What's more, the almost imperceptible S-shape of the base batten allows pressure to escape under extremely overpowered conditions.
Its character on land: When you see the AC-One for the first time, you can already guess what a cool thing it is! And once you launch the deep-profiled martial-looking PWA world champion race sail yourself, it puts everything in the shade. Total black with perfect Italian racing design. Wow! 7 battens and Point-7 has also given the world champion sail a 3-camber race setup.
Its character on the water: Plug & 0.7. On the beach, the sail feels completely light in your hands. When you step on the gas and the AC-One shifts into sixth gear, you have to be ready to fly absolutely on the fin! Why? Downforce (power that keeps the nose of the board down), absolute power and stability like on rails! The AC-One pushes the board down, eliminates any unwanted noselift especially on lively boards and bolts through chop and swell stable as an ICE ultimate. The AC-One is indeed insanely powerful and yet easy to control, as the sail pressure point is far forward (and stays fixed there) and the back hand is completely relieved. The AC-One is simply mega turbo-strong and the acceleration is absolute madness. Despite the sail power, your board does not rise and at the same time it ensures that you keep control of the V12 at the end of your arms in a pleasantly high body position. When it comes to jibing, initiating the jibe is easy thanks to the light profile at the back of the sail, but be ready for the ultimate power the sail develops right after rotating on the new side when it accelerates extremely. This requires an absolutely adept slalom pilot! The rotation itself happens super easy and smooth with the 3 camber setup.
Competition results: Veni Vidi Vici - I came, I saw and I conquered, as Caesar said. Nothing else applies to the AC-One! Men's PWA SLALOM WORLD CHAMPIONS. Women PWA VICE WORLD CHAMPION. WINNER of the PWA SLALOM Sailing CONSTRUCTOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Defi WIND WINNER. ONE HOUR CLASSIC RECORD HOLDER. PWA YOUTH WORLD CHAMPION.
Developed and designed by: #born07 Point-7 Black Team. A team of professional windsurfers and designers who have proven themselves by designing the winning sail for the PWA Slalom World Tour Champion.
Design goal: Life is a race. It was important for us not only to test the sail on the straight, but also to optimise how the sail behaves in the starts and when jibing around the barrels, when seven competition pilots give everything to be faster than the competition - just like in real competition conditions, for which a race sail is developed. In short, our goal is for the AC-One to be the fastest sail on the race course - simple! Absolute controllability at mega speed on the straight, power without end and still a precise feeling when carving through the gybe and ultimate turbo acceleration out of the jibe. In addition, the powerhouse has built in sail power that keeps the board down and not fluttering to thunder over any water surface at maximum speed, completely balanced.
Rigging: On the AC-1, the mast must be tucked into the wide mast pocket over the cams. After the luff has been tightened to about 15 cm before the final luff tension, you can either tighten the clew over the boom a little and then fold the cammers before the luff is finally put through, or you fold the cammers with the correct technique, then tighten the luff tensioner finally and fasten the clew to the boom at the end. You can find more instructions and videos in the support section on our website. Playing a little with the clew tension (outhaul) increases performance (less tension) or increases control (more tension). Put tension in the bottom two battens and the top batten of the sail, but only tension the other battens enough to just remove the wrinkles without putting too much tension in the battens.
