When the COROS Vertix came onto the market, it impressed with features such as sensational battery life and exemplary reliability and durability. The Vertix 2 takes over all these features and adds another notch. The battery life has been increased even further and is now up to 60 days! In addition, the housing has been made even more robust and the watch has been enhanced with several features such as an improved user interface, offline maps and music playback.
COROS has revised the software of the VERTIX 1 & 2, PACE 2, APEX Pro and the App. From 16.05.2022 (for the VERTIX 1 and 2) or 19.05.2022 (for the PACE 2 and APEX Pro) you can look forward to the following improvements:

The Vertix 2 is the first GPS sports watch to feature an All-Satellite Dual-Frequency GNSS chipset. This technology allows the watch to communicate on all five major satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and Beidou) simultaneously on two frequencies (L1 and L5). L5 was originally reserved for aviation safety, but has now been released for civilian use and features higher performance, wider bandwidth and advanced signal design.This technology avoids GPS dropouts and is very reliable even in difficult situations (deep in the forest, between tall buildings, etc.).
For the first time, the COROS Vertix 2 offers extensive global offline maps. This includes landscape, topo and hybrid map material. The landscape map material is already pre-installed on the watch and the topo maps can be downloaded free of charge from the COROS homepage. With the map material, the watch can then also be used for navigation. With the Komoot Route Sync update, your tours are synchronised with the Vertix 2. Tours previously created on the smartphone app or already completed tours can be downloaded and used on your watch.
Unlike the usual distance measurement via GPS, the Vertix 2 has a walk mode that counts the exact number of steps you take. Even when the GPS is switched off, this enables flexible and location-independent measurement, e.g. indoors.
A 32 GB internal memory allows you to store music. Headphones can be paired with the watch via Bluetooth and you can safely leave your smartphone at home while running and let the music play directly via the Vertix 2. More audio features are planned for the future, which will be delivered via a firmware update.
The 1.4 inch touchscreen allows you to display up to 8 data fields per page, which you can adapt individually to each sport. The resolution has increased by 16% compared to its predecessor.
Overall, the watch has become even more robust. The titanium bezel is about three times more scratch-resistant than that of its predecessor. A DLC coating additionally protects the sapphire crystal from scratches, making the Vertix 2 perfect for the next race or adventure.
The Vertix 2 lets you control your action camera directly from your wrist for spectacular shots from a distance. In addition to Insta360 (GO 2, One X2 and One R), it is now also possible to connect the Vertix 2 with the GoPro 9 and GoPro 10.
