The Slick is still our most popular wing today, as the Mini Boom makes handling unmatched intuitive and easy. The unrestricted choice of grip positions offers clear advantages over handle wings from beginner to expert, whether learning tacks and gybes or wild freestyle rotations with quick hand changes.
From its predecessor to the new Slick SLS, designer Ken Winner has given the wing a complete re-design. The slightly more stretched outline compared to the predecessor provides improved drift stability on the wave or downwinders, yet is compact enough for beginners and rotations. A new window layout not only reduces weight, it also provides more safety on full spots. Fine-tuned twist in the strut and the tips provide plenty of lift and the pressure point remains extremely stable due to the good cloth tension. This allows the Slick SLS to be flown single-handed even in gusty winds.
Front tube and strut are made of PentaTX - a trend-setting step, already with the popular SLS kites from the Dutotone Kiteboarding Department. This material is not only lighter, it also reacts more directly to control impulses than conventional Dacron. The middle area of the front tube is reinforced with stronger material and provides direct power with balanced flex to the tips.
The Mini Boom of the first slick generation is compatible - with the choice of carbon or aluminium.
