After the ART1099 was so well received, it was obvious that we should build a larger version. We went into action with the intention of launching an ART1199.... and thus began the 2-year ARTPRO odyssey.
Not content to simply extend an already proven formula, we set to work (our longest development cycle to date) testing countless iterations, all building on the success of its predecessor. The result, in our opinion, is something very special, so special in fact that we collectively decided to develop an entirely new product range for AXIS, the ARTPROs.
The ARTPRO 1201 is designed for fast downwinds and bigger guys, but don't misunderstand, this is the wing that Dylan Bez paddled for a world record marathon 3 hour and 6 minute uninterrupted surf pump session (he left his board shorts at home and went out in work shorts, he had to stop because it was getting dark? He achieved an average speed of 18.8 km/h and covered a distance of 58 km without ever getting wet again).
The design requirements for the ARTPRO 1201 were unprecedented glide, fast and agile feel, unparalleled wide span turning, great breaking load control, which is critical for a wing of this span, and finally early lift and low stall speed.
